What is the John E. Lowes Insurance Education Fund Scholarship?

This fund annually offers scholarships to Ontario residents pursuing post secondary education, which includes the study of property/casualty insurance. Contact the Insurance Institute of Canada for more information, www.insuranceinstitute.ca

I want to write an article for WP. What are the criteria and how long should it be?

Articles are normally 2500 to 3,000 words and we encourage any pictures, graphs or charts. Please provide a photograph, company, title and contact information including an e-mail address for any inquiries or questions from our readers.

I work for a vendor that is a big supporter of the OIAA. Why can’t I become a member?

To be a member you must be an Insurance professional whose principal interest and attention is devoted  to the adjustment of claims in the Province of Ontario on behalf of or employed by insurance companies, self insurers or government agency’s excluding adjusters acting on behalf of the public. Some of our chapters, however, do offer social memberships. Please check our Chapters section for links to their websites.

When is the renewal of my membership?

Renewals are sent out the beginning of August each year.

If I advertise from March to March, why can’t I get the ten-issue price?

WP year runs from September to June. We do not publish in July or August. New rates come out in June for the upcoming fiscal year at which time we email our existing exhibitors. This gives them the opportunity to advertise from September to June and take advantage of the 10-issue price.
