President's Message - January 2006
I was able to celebrate this past holiday season with my family, and especially my mother, who suffered a stroke in September. It had been her wish before becoming ill to see Mt. Tremblant and watch her granddaughters ski down the mountain. I am happy to report that she did get to see both. I have always felt it is important to treasure the time that you have with your family, and on that note I hope everyone had a festive time in December. Last month was our Christmas Party, and my feet have finally cooled off. Hats off to Steve Cordery and his committee. Our charity this year-and for the next five years-is Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Thank you for your generosity, as we were able to raise over $12,660.00. Our Claims 2006 Trade Show is on the 25th of this month. Our theme is ³Adjusting for the Future.² There is a great slate of seminars that will be held throughout the day, and our guest speaker will be George Cooke of The Dominion of Canada. There will be no dinner meeting in February, and our next event will be the fifth annual curling bonspiel. Please look at page 39 for more information. We have a very successful association supported by volunteers from around the province. But it may be time for you to consider putting in some volunteer time and making a commitment to your OIAA. If you are interested in getting involved, especially as a Toronto delegate, then please let our executive know. There are so many talented and interesting people in this business. We are hoping those individuals will bring fresh ideas to the association and to help lead the association into the future. Have a wonderful 2006, and I will talk to you next month.

Respectfully,
Stephen Martin
