President's Message - December 2005
Last month we had a one-day seminar that was well attended. It was on the upcoming changes to legislation and the Unfair or Deceptive Practices Act. Our association continues to strive to present current and informative seminars to our members. This is not always an easy task, as our industry is so diverse. I am certainly open to any topics that you may suggest; you can e-mail them to me at smartin@eddy-ohearn.com. We have always tried to keep the cost down for our members, and some have said that because of the low cost they feel that the quality might not be there. I do not agree with this, as we continue to bring in professionals who are well known to our industry. I attended the London Chapter's Chili Festival, which was a success. Next month will be our trade show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. George Cooke of the Dominion of Canada will be our guest speaker. While it is still some time away, the Out-of-Town Meeting will be held in Thunder Bay on the first Friday in June. I hope that our members and supporters in Southern Ontario will support the Thunder Bay Chapter. Maybe it will be a good time to hold a special meeting for your managers or affiliates. Certainly Thunder Bay has a lot to offer and is a beautiful part of the country. Well, Christmas is almost upon us, a time to spend with family and friends. It is a festive time of the year, and if you drink, please do it responsibly. I hope that Santa is good to everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Respectfully,
Stephen Martin
